If you’re interested in studying for a professional degree, Tecnológico de Monterrey has options in six areas of study.

Engineering, Business, Health, Built Environment, Creative Studies, and Social Sciences.

TEC21 EDUCATIONAL MODEL

The Tec has an educational model called TEC21, which is divided into 3 stages. This means you don’t start a degree course from the beginning, but one of the six areas of study.

In the first stage, that of Exploration, you take subjects and blocks with challenges from your chosen area of study.
In the second, called Focus, you decide on the degree course you want to study.
Finally, in the Specialization stage, there are specific activities according to your future interests and plans.

All professional programs of study include challenges at organizations and companies from the real world, as well as greater flexibility as to how, when, and where you learn.

“Students have to decide whether they will be architects, doctors, or engineers. Now, this model allows you to choose your own path,” said Roberto Iñiguez, Dean at the Tec.

The six areas of study and the degree courses available within them are as follows:

**ENGINEERING**->Imagen

This area is divided into four: Innovation and Transformation; Computing and Information Technologies; Bioengineering and Chemical Processes; and Applied Sciences.

In Innovation and Transformation, you can design products and services that improve people’s quality of life and resolve their issues and needs. Degree courses from this area are as follows:

In Computing and Information Technologies, you can develop new technologies and solutions that could change the world.

In Bioengineering and Chemical Processes, you can create products and processes to address global challenges in the areas of food, energy, environment, and health, among others.

The subdivision of Applied Sciences allows you to solve complicated problems from nature and help transform certain industries and sectors.

**BUSINESS**-->Imagen

If you’re interested in business and entrepreneurship, this allows you to create value for organizations and society in a changing world.

This allows you to develop your leadership skills, be your own boss, and even participate in a company, an association, or in government.

**HEALTH**-->Imagen

In this area, you can seek solutions to challenges in medicine, wellbeing, and delayed aging.

You can also find new ways of looking at human wellbeing by using technology, preventive medicine, and bionic technology.

**BUILT ENVIRONMENT**-->Imagen

This will allow you to seek solutions for the development of cities and their inhabitants, as well as the environment and sustainability.

More than half of the world’s population lives in cities now. Two thirds will do so by 2050, so this will enable you to find solutions to the challenges to come.

**CREATIVE STUDIES**-->Imagen

This area allows you to change your environment through expression, communication, and art.

You can learn to design projects in various areas such as digital art, design, communication, and journalism, as well as different forms of expression such as literature and music.

**SOCIAL SCIENCES**-->Imagen

In this area, you can generate a positive impact and transform the world by seeking equality, economic and political opportunities, laws and reforms, among other aspects.

This will help you learn skills for understanding trends and seeking solutions to various social issues, conflicts, and inequalities in societies.
