Are you a Latin American woman with an environmental or social impact startup idea? This call is for you!

The Unlock Her Future Prize is an initiative from The Bicester Collection, the Latin America edition of which is backed by incMTY -Tec de Monterrey’s entrepreneurship platform- and Ashoka, the leading global voice on social impact.

It’s open to Latin American women of all ages with an early-stage startup idea who want to make a positive impact on society, as defined by one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Applications are open until February 18, 2024, so there’s still time to take part.

What is the LATAM edition of the Unlock Her Future Prize?

“The prize is dedicated to empowering women worldwide to unlock their full potential, becoming catalysts for change and role models for future generations,” explains The Bicester Collection’s Chief Culture Officer, Chantal Khoueiry.

The 3 winners of this prize will receive:

  • A business grant of up to 100,000 dollars to launch and scale their startup
  • A bootcamp session and a soft-landing program from Tec de Monterrey
  • Bespoke leadership coaching to achieve their personal and professional goals
  • Access to global expert mentors
  • Global exposure through The Bicester Collection.

According to Khoueiry, this prize came about to empower women social entrepreneurs by creating a ripple effect of positive change that impacts entire communities.

“We’re on a mission to unlock futures and ignite a wave of authentic and transformative social progress globally, one region at a time,” she stressed.

Who can apply?

If you’d like to check whether you can submit an application for your startup, these are the points highlighted on the Unlock Her Future Prize website.

  • You are a woman citizen and resident of: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela.
  • Of any age.
  • You have an innovative idea that will drive positive social or environmental impact.
  • This innovative idea is aligned with at least one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
  • You will register and operate your startup in the Latin America region to drive positive impact in these communities.

When will the finalists be announced?

The 3 winners of the Unlock Her Future Prize LATAM Edition will be announced in June 2024 during a ceremony at Las Rozas Village, Madrid.

The Unlock Her Future Prize is now in its second year, with the first edition being MENA 2023. In fact, winners of the LATAM Edition will join alumni from the first edition.

Previous winners Noor Jaber (@nawathealth), Sarah Llalla (@ecocentric.eco), Fella Bouti (@ecotashira), and Nuhayr Zein (@leukeather) have all successfully registered their startups since winning the prize in March 2023 under the stewardship of The Bicester Collection, New York University Abu Dhabi, and Ashoka Arab World, as well as mentoring from the judges.
