Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Santa Fe campus worked in collaboration with the United States Department of State and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to hold the ‘Latin America Climate Innovation Summit.’

The event brought together entrepreneurs, investors, government officials, academics, NGOs, and other important stakeholders with the aim of accelerating the climate innovation ecosystem in Mexico and Latin America.

Attendees sought to develop and implement multiple financial strategies and technological solutions to tackle the huge challenge climate change represents to the country and the continent through different panels and networking sessions

Ken Salazar, U.S. Ambassador to Mexico and special guest, shared that the American and Mexican governments are working to develop a comprehensive renewable energy program to link their economies.

“We know that energy will determine the future of the planet and humanity, so we must make the world understand the importance of the work being done to address climate change, he said.

“The Tec has the Ruta Azul (Blue Route) sustainability plan, which is a model that seeks to implement a proactive culture in response to the climate emergency, as reflected in the generation of ideas and technologies.

“It’s also about high-impact actions and the development of leaders committed to forging a sustainable future,” she pointed out.
