Tec de Monterrey is ranked in the Top 5 universities in Latin America, according to the 2022 edition of the QS Latin America University Rankings produced by the Quacquarelli Symonds rating agency.

This year, the Tec holds fourth place in the ranking, and is the #1 university in the country for the third year running out of the 64 Mexican institutions evaluated.

The Tec achieved a total score of 96.9 in the ranking, which evaluated 416 educational institutions from 20 countries. In addition, it’s ranked 2nd among Latin American private universities.

Together with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), which ranks 6th, they’re the only Mexican institutions in the Top 10.

The first 3 places went to the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile; the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil; and the University of Chile.

QS sees the Tec as an academic point of reference in Latin America

For Neil Hernández, Director of Research at Tecnológico de Monterrey, the fact that the Tec has kept its place among the top 5 universities in Latin America is a source of pride.

He added: “It’s also a reason to reflect on the path we should take as a university in the near future.

“That’s why our road map for 2025 is defined as the convergence of challenges we see in the future and the opportunities we’re facing right now, alongside the motivation to continue to be a higher education institution across 3 areas: learning, research, and connection with society.”

Similarly, Ben Sowter, QS research director, explained that Tecnológico de Monterrey has established itself during the last five years as an academic point of reference in Latin America, consolidating its place among the top 5 universities in the region.

“Its success is based on outstanding recognition among the global academic community as well as among employers surveyed by QS. It achieved scores within the top ten on both QS reputation metrics,” added Sowter.

Reputación de empleadores es una de las cartas fuertes del Tec.
