Thanks to the APeL Award, Tec de Monterrey has now been recognized as having the best e-learning solution in the education sector

Tecnológico de Monterrey has won the 2020 APeL Awards for Excellence in e-Learning in the education sector for its Project Management Skills Certification.

This distinction was received on February 7 at the National e-Learning Conference - ApeL 2020 at the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), in Madrid.

The Tec project won this contest by achieving standards of quality for excellence in e-Learning, said Noemí Villarreal, Director of Digital Continuing Education at the Vice-Rector's Office for Academic and Educational Innovation, who received the award.

Joaquín Guerra, Vice-Rector for Academic and Educational Innovation at the Tec, said it was an honor for a Latin American university to receive this award.

"(The award) is an endorsement of the academic excellence which is the hallmark of all Tecnológico de Monterrey programs.

"This definitely motivates us to continue innovating and providing quality training that will strengthen lifelong learning," he said.

Beatriz Palacios, Director of Educational Innovation at the Vice-Rector's Office for Academic and Educational Innovation, had this to say:

“This award recognizes 30 years of experience in digital education. It encourages us to continue offering quality programs for the different audiences we attend in this way.”

The purpose of Project Management Skills Certification is to teach participants the skills to coordinate work teams based on customer objectives with the activities and resources involved in projects.

The Tec offers online and onsite high school, undergraduate, postgraduate, continuing education and general training programs.

E-Learning or digital education provides flexibility as to how, when, and where to learn through the use of technological tools.


 

THE AWARDS

Founded in Spain in 2001, APeL is the Association of e-Learning Providers, dedicated to promoting online education to improve company competitiveness and service to citizens.

The APeL Awards recognize projects in the categories of social actors, corporate sector, education, innovation, and social projects.

Various organizations have been distinguished at previous awards, such as Universidad Isabel I, the University of Salamanca, the Chilean National Training and Employment Service, Sony Academy, Xtend, and Indra.

The other winners were:

* Public Administration and Social Actors Award category:
Spanish Army Training and Doctrine Command (MADOC) for its online English courses to thousands of students.

* Corporate sector award:
Repsol for the AROUND WORKDAY project, which publicized Workday platform functions through gamification.

* Innovation category award:
Enzyme Advising Group, for the Leonardo chatbot developed for Generali Insurance.

* Best social project award:
Media Interactiva for the Certinet project, which offers digital skills training and certification solutions to reduce the digital divide.

* Honorary Award:
ATRESMEDIA Foundation for its initiative Descubre la FP (Discover Professional Training), through which it hopes to promote and publicize Professional Training in Spain with the aim of improving youth employability.
