David Garza, Rector and Executive President of Tec de Monterrey, outlined educational and social trends and challenges that will direct some of the Tec’s current and future work.

Twenty-five years ago, Tec de Monterrey launched the Alfonso Reyes Lectures, an initiative proposed by Carlos Fuentes that has connected writers, academics, and intellectuals with the Tec community and society in general.

Juan Pablo Murra, Rector for Higher Education at the Tec, spoke about the institution’s experience with the use of artificial intelligence and how they’re incorporating this technology into study programs.

Although generative artificial intelligence promises to revolutionize higher education, it will bring both benefits and risks, said Dr. Francisco José García Peñalvo, a professor at the University of Salamanca.

MIT and Tec de Monterrey have celebrated the completion of the MIT REAP Focus Mexico initiative with the first generation of participants, who presented their projects to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Chihuahua, Mexico City, Querétaro, Guanajuato, and Guadalajara.
