Tec de Monterrey and Microsoft have signed a partnership agreement to promote the development of technologies and capabilities for access controls, detecting new forms of attacks, sharing intelligence information, incident responses, and forensic computing.

This will take place at the Tec’s Cybersecurity Hub in order to make these technologies more secure, accessible, and reliable against online risks.

Microsoft is an organization that we are proud to work with, and this partnership commits us to offering more and better possibilities for development in the community.

“This gives direction to our future plans within the institution in terms of cybersecurity and data analytics,” said Manuel Zertuche, National Dean of the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tec de Monterrey.

The Hub intends to combine the abilities of expert leaders to tackle diverse challenges in the area by developing talent, raising awareness, offering specialized services, creating technology, entrepreneurship, and research in the area.

Enrique Perezeyra, director of Microsoft Mexico, pointed out that as a company they are committed to working with industry to protect society.

“Last year was quite a challenge: the pandemic fueled exponential growth in the use of information technologies, and we’ve seen an accelerated digital transformation in just months.

“This situation has overturned a cornerstone of modern society, which is why cybersecurity is an important issue and our highest priority, he explained.

The Tec offers educational opportunities through its Cybersecurity Hub, which intends to develop new platforms that allow users to have the peace of mind that their information will be protected without danger of cyberattacks.

“This has borne many fruits: last year we began a master’s degree in cybersecurity, with instructors from Microsoft, Banorte, UTSA, CISCO, and other organizations.

“It’s a program that we’re very proud of because it’s been very popular with people who want to learn more about and specialize in cybersecurity,” concluded Zertuche.

“Microsoft is an organization that we are proud to work with, and this partnership commits us to offering more and better possibilities for development in the community.”
