Tecnológico de Monterrey remains in the top 200 universities from around the world, having been placed at #188 in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2027.
In these rankings, the Tec is the #2 university in Mexico. Among private universities, it is #1 in the country and #29 in the world. It is educational institution #6 in Latin America and #2 among the region’s private institutions.
8,808 higher education institutions from 106 countries were evaluated for the 2027 edition of the rankings, in which 1,504 universities entered the rankings. 18 of Mexico’s universities were placed in the 2027 rankings, 4 fewer institutions than last year.
The indicators on which the Tec is best positioned in this edition were: Employment Outcomes, Employer Reputation, and Academic Reputation, the latter including a climb of 11 places compared with the previous edition.

The Tec among the top 200 universities in the world

Juan Pablo Murra, Rector of Tecnológico de Monterrey, emphasized that these results are a reflection of the collective work of our faculty, researchers, students, staff, Tec graduates, and partners.
“This recognition is the result of a community that understands academic excellence to be a commitment to the future.
“At the Tec, we train leaders not only to prepare for professional success but also to get involved with the major challenges of our time, from innovation and research to social impact and sustainability”, he said.
Javier Guzmán, Vice President of Research at the Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group, underscored that the institution’s performance in these rankings reflects the progress of a strategy that understands research to be a cornerstone of academic excellence.

The Tec’s strengths
The institution’s strongest categories in this year’s rankings were:

The Tec was ranked 70th worldwide in this ranking criterion.
- Employer Reputation
This is Tec de Monterrey’s best score, placing it at 71st place in the world.
- Academic Reputation
In the category of Academic Reputation, the institution was ranked 125th in the world.
