Industries such as automotive, banking, technology, and higher education have one thing in common: the leadership ofTecnológico de Monterrey graduates.
In recent months, various companies have announced changes featuring the leadership of Tec graduates, who will be tasked with running these companies in Mexico, as well as some in Latin America.
“Every time one Tec graduate or another assumes a position of high responsibility, not only do we celebrate their professional achievement, but we also see how this reflects their distinctive talents, which generate trust, create value, and transform realities in different sectors and locations”.
These were the words of Zinia Padilla, the Tec’s National Director of Alumni Relations on the positioning of these professionals.
The Tec de Monterrey graduates who have recently been appointed to leadership positions are:

1.Edgardo Del Rincón Gutiérrez - CEO of Banamex
Bachelor of Economics (LEC) 1984, Monterrey campus.
On June first of this year, Edgardo Del Rincón assumed the leadership of Banamex, a new stage in his journey to modernize the Mexican financial system.
As a recent graduate, he began his career at Banamex, where he held leadership positions such as Director of Credit Cards and Managing Director of Consumer Banking.
In 2019, he became CEO of BanBajío, a position he held until leaving in May of this year to continue his trajectory with what he describes as a focus on innovation and staying close to customers.
“I believe that those of us who devote ourselves to giving, to making others happy, or simply generating a positive influence, really receive much more”, he said when receiving the 2025 Tec Graduate Merit Award from León campus.
2. Miguel Barbeyto - President of Mazda Mexico and Director of New Markets in LATAM
Bachelor of Marketing (LEM) 2001, State of Mexico campus.
On February first of this year, Miguel Barbeyto went from being President and CEO of Mazda Mexico to also becoming Director of New Markets in Latin America.
After graduating, Barbeyto worked at an advertising agency. While there, one of his clients was the president of Lincoln Motor Company, who invited him to take part in the launch of Mazda Mexico.
After joining the company in 2005 as Communications Manager, he held different posts including Director of Marketing, Product, and Public Relations, and Managing Director, until becoming president in 2017.
“One great lesson I’ve learned for executing on my ideas and taking control of my purpose in life has been to keep my head cool, my heart warm, and my hands clean”.
Last April, software development and IT service company Softtek announced on its social media that David Jiménez would assume the position of global CEO on October first of this year.
After graduating from high school, this Tec graduate continued his studies at Chapman University in California, United States, where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.).
Years later, in 2012, Jiménez joined Softtek as Finance Manager to later hold different directorial positions, including Director of Business Development and Managing Director CPG.
Now, 15 years after joining the company, he will continue his journey as CEO.
“Caring for our people and Softtek’s culture — our most valuable assets — will always be my top priority”, he said on social media.
5. Blanca Treviño - Executive President and President of the Board of Softtek
Bachelor of Administrative Computing Systems (LSC) 1981, Monterrey campus.
Blanca Treviño is co-founder of Softtek, a leading IT-oriented service company with 30 offices in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Recently, the company announced that she will continue as executive president and president of the board from October 1, 2026.
Treviño has been distinguished with the 2015 Forbes Award for Business Excellence at the opening of the 2015 Powerful Women Forum and was listed by Forbes as one of the 100 most powerful women in Mexico in 2018.
She is the first Mexican woman to enter the Women in Technology International (WITI) Hall of Fame and the Outsourcing Hall of Fame from the International Association of Outsourcing Providers.
“Leading Softtek is, has been, and will always be a profound personal — and of course professional — privilege. And today, I am excited to share that Softtek’s leadership is getting stronger.
“I will continue as Executive President and President of the Board, two roles that I take on with just as much energy and conviction as everything I’ve done before”, she said on her social media.

6.- Eugenio Garza Garza - Rector of the University of Monterrey
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Administration (IQA) 1992, Monterrey campus.
Eugenio Garza began his career in consulting and investment banking, where he held leadership positions.
He was managing director of Javer and director of finance of FEMSA. Garza currently serves on the boards of companies both in Mexico and abroad.
Besides his administrative career, he has also served on the Advisory Board of Stanford Graduate School of Business, as well as the board of the American School Foundation of Monterrey (ASFM) as board member and treasurer.
The University of Monterrey (UDEM) announced that Eugenio will be the new rector of this educational institution from August third.
According to information from the Tec’s National Office of Alumni Relations, the Tec graduate community stood at just over 492,000 graduates as of December 2025.
25 years after graduation, they have an employment rate of 96.4 percent. What’s more, nearly 52 percent run or have run start-ups; 61.2 percent hold international positions; 66 percent are studying or have studied for a graduate degree; and 72.1 percent hold directorial or managerial positions.
The Information Intelligence Office also indicated that 25 years after graduating, 51.7 percent of Tec graduates are business partners or owners.
